Deep dive investigations
Since the start of its collaboration with the Earthworm Foundation to conduct in-depth investigations into various allegations, the Socfin Group has assessed 12 plantations, published 11 reports, and made concrete recommendations based on its findings.
The decision to partner with Earthworm Foundation was made to verify the allegations, address those that were confirmed, and help implement solutions even when the Socfin Group’s responsibility was not established.
These investigations revealed that a number of allegations were founded. The Socfin Group’s management wishes to emphasize that it does not condone any of the identified shortcomings and is devoting all its efforts to resolving these issues.
Although this phase of the investigation is difficult and demanding, the Socfin Group believes it is far preferable to address these issues with full transparency rather than continue its activities while ignoring them.
The Socfin Group trusts that all stakeholders support and will continue to support its ongoing efforts to improve its social and environmental performance.
The Group, along with its management and shareholders, is resolute and confident, remains convinced of the positive social impact of its activities, and expects that its collaboration with the Earthworm Foundation will further deepen this momentum for progress
