Palm Oil is one of the most important crops in the world thanks to its growing demand and its yield per hectare. Through is low start-up cost there is a large number of smallholders in this business which mean difficulties to trace the productions. RSPO is acting to certified production; today only 20% is certified because it represents an important cost for smallholders. GAR and IPOP have similar commitments to demonstrate the benefits of sustainable production; it can be done thanks to better science, training, equipment and sharing of expertise.
