Socfin’s Liberian Agricultural Company Achieves ISO 14001:2015 Certification for Environmental Management

19 February 2026

The Socfin Group announces that the Liberian Agricultural Company (LAC), one of its subsidiaries in Liberia, has been awarded ISO 14001:2015 certification for its environmental management system.

The certification, issued by Bureau Veritas, covers the sustainable cultivation of rubber plantations and the production of raw rubber into dry rubber bales in Grand Bassa County, Liberia. The original certification date is 17 February 2026, with validity until 16 February 2029, subject to continued satisfactory operation of the management system.

ISO 14001:2015 is an internationally recognised standard that sets out the criteria for an effective environmental management system. It provides a structured framework to identify, manage, monitor and continuously improve environmental performance.

This milestone reflects the Socfin Group’s continued efforts to strengthen environmental governance across its operations and to align its practices with internationally recognised standards.

“Achieving ISO 14001 certification at LAC is an important step in reinforcing our environmental management systems on the ground,” said Céline Schmitz, Head of Sustainability of the Socfin Group. “It demonstrates our commitment to structured environmental risk management, continuous improvement, and greater accountability in the way we cultivate and process natural rubber.”

The certification process involved a comprehensive audit of LAC’s environmental management practices, including compliance mechanisms, monitoring procedures, and operational controls related to plantation management and rubber processing.

For the Group, this achievement forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen governance frameworks and external verification mechanisms across its operations in Africa and Asia.

“Independent certification is a cornerstone of credible governance,” stated Dr. Julien Bastrup-Birk, Secretary General of the Socfin Group. “By subjecting our systems to internationally recognised audits, we reinforce transparency, enhance operational discipline, and contribute to building long-term trust with our stakeholders in Liberia and beyond.”

The Socfin Group will continue to expand the implementation of internationally recognised standards across its subsidiaries as part of its long-term sustainability roadmap.
