Follow-up

The implementation of the commitments we have made is framed by the various certifications we have obtained or those which are still in progress, as well as by the support of organizations to which we have decided to join.

Monitoring of our commitments

Goals Date of completion Status
Responsible management policy 2017 Achieved
100% RSPO certified 2022 77% of the palm oil mills at 31.12.2021
100% ISO 14001 or RSPO certified (RSPO including the standards similar to ISO 14001) 2022 69% of subsidiairies at 31.12.2021
100% ISO 9001 certified 2021 87.5%

Monitoring of our supply chain traceability

We are committed to making our supply chain transparent.

Our Group ensures that its sustainability and responsible management criteria apply to all its suppliers (including the smallholders where we buy wet rubber or fresh fruit bunches).

We obtained 100% traceability for “level 1” of the supply chain, for both fresh fruit bunches and rubber, the latter being more complex and instable than the palm oil supply chain.

Measures are currently being implemented to gradually obtain 100% traceability for all 3 “levels”.

Since 2019, we have started reporting on the traceability elements of the most stringent levels:

Our audit systems

We have put in place audit systems, intervening at an operational, technical, legal or administrative level in order to ensure successful implementation and achievement of our commitments.

  • Our internal audit system: On the ground, our Group’s technical departments ensure monitoring and perform technical audits of plantation activities.
  • Monitoring ensured by the local national Ministries: The local Ministries of Work, Environment, Health, etc. perform annual audits in our plantation companies to verify our operations’ legal compliance.
  • Our partner on the ground: Earthworm Foundation monitors the implementation of our responsible management policy in the plantation companies, through field missions with our teams.
  • Our clients’ quality audits: Most of our clients have established stringent quality policies that require an annual supplier audit. Auditors accompanied by our teams perform field missions in order to verify adherence to procedures and production processes.
  • Certification bodies: Certification bodies, such as ISO, RSPO perform audits on our plantation companies for certification or renewal of obtained certifications.
  • Specialized assessment bodies: Organizations such as SPOTT, Forest 500, Ecovadis evaluate the plantation companies’ performance in terms of sustainability, transparency, etc. and allocate a score to each evaluated entity.
