There are more than 800 definitions for forests, even the 2 mains international organizations, UNFCCC and FAO, don’t use the same definition. Regarding palm oil, it is defined as a forest regarding UNFCCC but not according to FAO. Compare with the 3 other mains crop (soya, rapeseeds and sunflower), palm oil is defined as a perennial crop and absorb more carbon dioxide.
